Krita Project Foundation GE is an independent organization focused on developing accessible digital tools for artists, illustrators, and creative professionals. We are currently working on a digital painting and image-editing application based on open-source technology.

Privacy Policy

Krita Project Foundation GE respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use our mobile drawing and image-editing application, referred to below as the “App.”
The App does not require users to create an account.
We do not directly collect personal information such as your name, postal address, phone number, payment details, or precise location through the App.
The App does not sell personal information and does not use personal information for advertising or cross-app tracking.
The App may request access to photos, images, documents, or device storage when you choose to:

Your drawings, images, and project files are processed locally on your device. We do not upload these files to our servers or access their contents remotely.
You can manage the App’s permissions at any time through your device settings.

The current version of the App does not intentionally collect analytics, advertising identifiers, or information used to track users across apps or websites.
App stores, operating-system providers, or device manufacturers may independently process limited technical information, such as download activity, device information, crash reports, or purchase information, according to their own privacy policies.
If we add analytics, crash-reporting services, cloud storage, advertising, accounts, or other features that collect information in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and the relevant App Store and Google Play disclosures before those practices are introduced.

We use this information only to respond to your request, provide support, investigate technical issues, and maintain necessary business records.
We do not sell or rent support information.
We do not share personal information collected through the App with advertisers or data brokers.

Files created or edited in the App remain on your device until you modify or delete them.
Information sent to us through support emails may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your enquiry, resolve technical issues, maintain business records, or comply with legal obligations.
When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize it.
Because the App does not currently create user accounts or store users’ creative files on our servers, there is generally no App account or cloud content for us to delete.
You can delete locally stored projects and exported files directly from the App or through your device’s file-management tools.

Please provide enough information for us to identify the relevant communication. We may need to retain limited information when required by law or for legitimate security and record-keeping purposes.
The App is a general-purpose creative tool and is not specifically directed to children.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so that we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Information submitted to us by email may be processed in the country where our organization or email service providers operate.
Where applicable, we handle personal information in accordance with relevant data-protection requirements.
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information under our control.
However, no electronic transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
The App may contain links to third-party websites, open-source resources, or external services.
Those third parties operate under their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, security, or content of third-party services.
The App may include open-source software components. The use of open-source code does not give the original open-source contributors access to your files or personal information through our App.
Information about applicable open-source licences may be provided within the App or on our website.
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, our data practices, or applicable requirements change.
The updated policy will be published on this page with a revised effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the App or its store listing where appropriate.

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the mobile application and related website provided by Krita Project Foundation GE, referred to below as the “App” and the “Services.”
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
The App is a digital drawing, painting, and image-editing tool designed to help users create and edit visual content.
The App may include brushes, layers, image-editing tools, templates, presets, and other creative features.
You may use the App only if you are legally permitted to enter into these Terms.
If you are under the legal age required in your country, you may use the App only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable licence to install and use the App for lawful personal or professional creative purposes.

You retain ownership of the drawings, images, projects, and other content you create or edit using the App.
We do not claim ownership of your creative work.
You are responsible for ensuring that content you create, import, edit, save, or share does not violate applicable laws or the rights of others.
This includes copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, and other intellectual-property rights.
Project files and images may be stored locally on your device.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of your work. We are not responsible for files that are lost, deleted, corrupted, or made unavailable because of device failure, operating-system changes, insufficient storage, user actions, or third-party services.
You agree not to use the App to:

The App may include software made available under open-source licences.
Open-source components remain subject to their applicable licence terms. Where an open-source licence conflicts with these Terms, the open-source licence will apply to that component.
Relevant copyright notices and licence information may be provided in the App, on our website, or with the source code.
Except for user-created content and open-source components, the App’s original branding, interface elements, graphics, documentation, custom resources, and other materials are owned by or licensed to Krita Project Foundation GE.
These Terms do not grant you ownership of our trademarks, branding, or proprietary materials.
Krita Project Foundation GE is an independent organization and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Stichting Krita Foundation, KDE, Apple, or Google.
“Krita” and other third-party names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.
We may update, improve, modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the App at any time.
Updates may be required to maintain compatibility, security, or functionality. Some features may change or become unavailable in future versions.
We may also update these Terms. The revised version will be published with a new effective date.
Continued use of the App after an update means that you accept the revised Terms.
The App may include links to, integrations with, or content from third-party services.
Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their availability, content, security, or practices.
Your use of Apple App Store and Google Play is also subject to the applicable store terms.
If paid features, subscriptions, or in-app purchases are introduced, payments will be processed through the relevant app store or authorized payment provider.
Pricing, renewal, cancellation, and refund conditions will be presented before purchase and will also be subject to the rules of the relevant app store.
Unless required by law, we do not independently control refunds for purchases processed by Apple or Google.
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, and protected.
The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We aim to provide a stable and useful creative tool, but we do not guarantee that the App will always be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or compatible with every device, file type, operating system, or third-party service.
To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Krita Project Foundation GE will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses resulting from your use of or inability to use the App.
This includes loss of files, artwork, data, revenue, business opportunities, or expected savings.
Our liability will not be limited where such limitation is prohibited by law.
You may stop using the App and uninstall it at any time.
We may suspend or terminate access to related Services if you materially violate these Terms, misuse the App, create a security risk, or if required by law.
Sections that reasonably need to remain effective after termination will continue to apply.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Krita Project Foundation GE, without limiting any mandatory consumer-protection rights available in your country of residence.
Any dispute should first be addressed by contacting us so that we can attempt to resolve it informally.
If you download the App from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that:
